Scientology, Breaking Down the Mind for Submission to Satan
February 2, 2008 on 5:38 pm | In False "Christian" Teachers, Non-Christian Religions, Misc, Cults | No Comments
The basis of Scientology is found in a book by L. Ron Hubbard called “Dianetics”. L. Ron Hubbard was a science fiction writer in the 1950’s but decided the best way to make money was to start a religion. The book “Dianetics is basically a ’self-help’ guide for those who are seeking inner peace and tranquility. The book (Dianetics) is based on the principle that in order to achieve the state of tranquility that each person desires, one must ‘clear out’ negative thoughts through a process called ‘auditing’. This process, and the ramifications of it will be discussed later in the article.

Taizé Community Exposed
November 3, 2007 on 11:24 pm | In False "Christian" Teachers, Catholicism, Cults | 1 Comment
Here is a notice in our local newspaper: “First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Festus will hold a special worship service at 7pm Tuesday, Nov. 6, 2007 at the church… The service will be conducted in the meditative style used at the Taize Community in France.”
The following is from the Taizé community website:
Taizé, in the south of Burgundy, France, is the home of an international, ecumenical community, founded there in 1940 by Brother Roger. The brothers are committed for their whole life to material and spiritual sharing, to celibacy, and to a great simplicity of life. Today, the community is made up of over a hundred brothers, Catholics and from various Protestant backgrounds, from more than twenty-five nations.
At the heart of daily life in Taizé are three times of prayer together. The brothers live by their own work. They do not accept gifts or donations for themselves. Some of the brothers are living in small groups – “fraternities” - among the very poor.
Since the late 1950s, many thousands of young adults from many countries have found their way to Taizé to take part in weekly meetings of prayer and reflection. In addition, Taizé brothers make visits and lead meetings, large and small, in Africa, North and South America, Asia, and in Europe, as part of a “pilgrimage of trust on earth”.
Taizé is not a “Christian” organization, although they claim to be. The Taizé “brothers” as they call themselves practice the Catholics false doctrine of the Eucharist. The doctrine of transubstantiation (digesting Jesus’ blood and flesh) is nowhere taught in the Word of God, it is a pagan teaching. They also teach the heresy that baptism is necessary for salvation. Through recited prayers and cultic songs, they worship in vain.
Joy of Satan Ministries - Their Feeble Attempt to Disprove Christianity
September 5, 2007 on 1:20 am | In Non-Christian Religions, Satanism | 8 CommentsThis article is intended for those searching for information on Satanism, Magic, or more specifically; “Joy of Satan Ministries” (or JSM).
Joy of Satan Ministries is an organization based in Baldwin Park California who’s purpose is to promote “spiritual satanism”. The founder of the organization goes by the assumed name “Salem Burke”. Salem Burke (from what I can glean from the personal testimonies) is an ex-Roman Catholic who started dabbling in Voodoo. Now, several years later he is a recognized Warlock in the Magic community and he has founded the “Joy of Satan Ministries” to proclaim what he believes to be the truth.
I found this organization while reading some posts on a Christian E-group with Yahoo Groups. Later, I found that they also have some groups on “Yahoo Groups” which are: “Joy of Satan”, and “Teens for Satan”… the latter being an E-Group designed to proselytize teenagers and get them interested in Satanism. Which is why I decided to find out more about the organization.
As I read through the articles on their website, and the articles on Salem Burke’s personal website, I couldn’t help but notice some extremely contradictory statements throughout the website, and the lack of sincere logic that is prevalent in the articles. I begin by exposing some of the more trivial of these contradictions, then systematically move on to contradictions which are more important to the defense of Christianity.

False Revival - The “Toronto Blessing”
September 3, 2007 on 12:59 am | In False "Christian" Teachers | 52 Comments
The Toronto Airport Church is located in Etobicoke, Canada; and is pastored by John and Carol Arnott.
The church is famous for the Toronto blessing, an experiential religious activity which spread amongst the Charismatic church world-wide. John and Carol Arnott were the pastors of the church in 2004, and remain so. The church was not originally a member of the Vineyard Movement, then joined the Vineyard Movement, but was ‘expelled’, some say, after others in the movement became critical of the church’s beliefs and practices. John Wimber, the leader of the Vineyard Ministries International, met with Leaders at TACF and urged them to continue in what God was doing, but felt that he was too busy with the Vineyard Fellowships to continuously give explanations for and on behalf of TACF. As a result John Arnott and the Toronto Christian Fellowshop founded Partners in Harvest, a group churches worldwide that shared similar beliefs. The church is also the source of the so-called Golden Sword Prophecy. Another notable phenomenon that broke out there in March 1999 was the outbreak of allegedly instantaneous, allegedly medically documented dental ‘miracles’ including amalgam fillings or porcelain crowns being ’supernaturally’ changed to high-quality gold. At TACF Revival services, worshippers have exhibited unusual behaviours that they attribute to an encounter with God and the “fire of the Holy Spirit”. The most common described behaviours include laughter (or “holy laughter”), weeping, deep bowing, shaking, ‘drunkenness’, falling to the floor under the Holy Spirit’s power (aka “slain in the Spirit”) and speaking in tongues. Other less common behaviours include manifestations that resembled roaring like lions and crying like an eagle. (See Derek Prince commentary). At one time the TACF website described it thus: “The Toronto Blessing is a transferable anointing. In its most visible form it overcomes worshippers with outbreaks of laughter, weeping, groaning, shaking, falling, ‘drunkenness,’ and even behaviours that have been described as a ‘cross between a jungle and a farmyard.’”
Truth By The Spirit?
August 30, 2007 on 11:07 pm | In False "Christian" Teachers | 1 CommentHow does the spirit give truth? Many beliefs profess to have it, so who is right? Some organizations/individuals would explain a message from the spirit as truth by assertion, with no support or attempt at proof, basing it entirely from specific life experiences and what feelings were drawn from them. Is this an accurate method for acknowledgment of truth? Can this be spiritually dangerous? As sinful beings can we interpret feelings differently, or interpret into different feelings? Can we perceive as truth based on our desires? Of Course! This is why in the Bible you’ll read:
Proverbs 14:12
“There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.”
Proverbs 28:26
“He that trusteth in his own heart is a fool: but whoso walketh wisely, he shall be delivered.”
Jeremiah 17:9
“The heart is deceitful above all things , and desperately wicked: who can know it?”
2 Timothy 4:3-4
“For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.”
When examining the assertive approach to truth, a conviction by feelings through ones own experience or by the testimony of others are purely subjective and an ideal method for messages of deception. The message may sound positively inspiring to the individual, but sensationalism has no real foundation and would be a very flawed method to offer truth. Can deception appear as something righteous and good? According to the Bible it can:
A Tormented Hypocrite - Mother Teresa’s Secret
August 28, 2007 on 1:33 am | In False "Christian" Teachers, Catholicism | 38 Comments
Recently a collection of letters and confessions of Mother Teresa have been published which give insight into the secret thoughts of the iconic religious figure.
The story was covered by CBS and is quoted below.
***Mother Teresa was so doubtful of her own faith that she feared being a hypocrite, reports CBS News correspondent Mark Phillips.
In a new book that compiles letters she wrote to friends, superiors and confessors, her doubts are obvious. Shortly after beginning work in Calcutta’s slums, the spirit left Mother Teresa. “Where is my faith?” she wrote. “Even deep down… there is nothing but emptiness and darkness… If there be God — please forgive me.”
Eight years later, she was still looking to reclaim her lost faith. “Such deep longing for God… Repulsed, empty, no faith, no love, no zeal,” she said. As her fame increased, her faith refused to return. Her smile, she said, was a mask. “What do I labor for?” she asked in one letter. “If there be no God, there can be no soul. If there be no soul then, Jesus, You also are not true.”

Jesus the Healer - Cal Pierce, and the “Healing Room Ministries”
August 26, 2007 on 3:47 pm | In False "Christian" Teachers | 2 CommentsA fast growing movement in the United States (and world-wide) in recent years is the movement called the “Healing Rooms”. The Healing Room Ministry is an interdenominational organization based in Spokane Washington claiming to understand the key to “unlocking” God’s power for healing the body. It is the same “Healing Rooms” that was started by John G. Lake about 80 years ago (and the same Healing Rooms that died since Mr. Lake’s death), but has been revived by current director Cal Pierce.
They have a daily national radio program called “Jesus the Healer”, in which the director of the Healing Rooms Ministry (Cal Pierce) gives an info-mercial on the organization, complete with testimonies of tremendous accounts of miraculous healing as a result of attending the Healing Rooms. Then at various points in the broadcast, the need for donations in interjected.

Kabbalah - Evil, Luciferian, Occult, Deceptive Magic
August 4, 2007 on 1:38 am | In False "Christian" Teachers, Cults | 1 CommentA few days ago I picked up a DVD at my local library entitled “Secrets of the Kabbalah” released by the History Channel.
I knew only very general things about the Kabbalah but what I did know was enough to make me sure it is false and a blasphemy to our Lord and Savior Yeshua.
Nevertheless, being a descendant of Sephardic Jews myself and always having had an interest in knowing about these kinds of things, I decided to pick it up.
In this DVD it says that a bunch of Jewish mystics got together to try and understand Ezekiel’s vision from Ezekiel 1:1-28 hoping that by understanding this passage they can come to see God for themselves and “become one with the Divine Spirit”.
It is said that what these Jewish mystics were seeking was the type of desire for enlightment that would bring about Kabbalah later on.

Defining a Cult - The Borderline Between Christian and Counterfeit
July 17, 2007 on 12:47 am | In Non-Christian Religions, Misc, Cults | 12 CommentsWhen we hear the word “cult”, many of us instantly imagine a Satanic ritualistic gathering where animals are being sacrificed and demons are invoked; while others may instantly think of the Branch Davidians of Waco Texas who were saturating the media a few years ago as they defended their compound; or maybe the Heaven’s Gate cult led by Marshall Applewhite, who committed mass suicide in an effort to be accepted by the “Mother Ship” as the Hale Bop comet passed by Earth.
Whatever your idea of a cult is, this word (cult) carries a very subjective definition. A few years ago I listened to a local Christian radio talk show host who was taking calls in response to the question; “Is the Roman Catholic Church a cult”. The host received many calls. Some callers said yes, they are a cult because a person couldn’t truly be saved following Roman Catholic Teaching. Other callers were adamant that the Roman Catholic Church was not a cult because they teach the deity of Christ. As a result of discussions like this one, and the utter confusion surrounding the nature of a “cult”, I think it is imperative that the term “cult” be ultimately defined from a Christian perspective.

Dave Armstrong - Blacker than the Pot and the Kettle
July 4, 2007 on 8:08 pm | In False "Christian" Teachers | 3 CommentsA couple of days ago, while I was surfing around the web, I came across an interesting man by the name Alberto Rivera. Alberto Rivera is supposed to have died in 1997 by poisoning - supposedly by the Roman Catholic church to finally shut him up. Dr. Alberto Rivera was, according to himself and those close to him, an ex-Jesuit priest who, after managing to escape the grip of the the Catholic church in Spain after having been accused of heresy, had dedicated his life to exposing the true history of world events and the Roman Catholic Church.
On my search for more information about Dr. Alberto Rivera Romero I came across a website claiming to expose Alberto Rivera for the liar, the webmaster claims, he was. I clicked through right away to find that the website had moved and to read this article I would have to click the link to the new page. The new location is a blog by David Armstrong, Catholic Apologist, called “Cor ad cor loquitur”
I was determined to read the article about Alberto Rivera and eventually did find it, but the small journey there was an experience. I came across some false doctrine that only served to make Alberto Rivera look better in my eyes.
Here are some of things that I came across, not taken out of context with the intention of twisting what David Armstrong says on his blog. These quotes mean what they say.
